Wholemeal Fruit Crumble Recipe

This is a really easy, quick, healthy dessert recipe.  The ingredients are all things that you are likely to keep stored around your house so you can whip it together at short notice if you have unexpected guests… or are just really hungry.

Ingredients:

1 cup wholemeal flour

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup sugar (you can use any type you like, but a natural sugar that still has it’s minerals will be better for you)

1/2 cup nuts or seeds

100g butter

Fruit – two small cans (approx 900g) or a similar amount of fresh stewed fruit

Instructions:

Spread fruit evenly in the bottom of a 20cm x 20cm (8inch x 8inch) baking dish.  Mix dry ingredients except nuts or seeds together in a bowl.  Cut butter into small chunks and combine with dry ingredients.  Rub together with your hands until the butter is evenly mixed and the dry ingredients start to clump together.  Add nuts or seeds.  Spread crumble mix over fruit in baking dish.  Bake in oven pre-heated to about 180 degrees celcius until golden brown on top.

Serves 6

Self defense – using everyday objects as weapons – damage

I have some self defense seminars coming up soon.  This is a video of a demonstration I will be using in them.

You can greatly increase the effectiveness of your strikes in a self defense situation by using the objects around you as weapons.  The video shows different objects being used to strike a block of hard professional modelling clay to see the kind of damage they might do.

Wholemeal flat bread / chapati / tortilla recipe

Wholemeal flat breads are simple and easy to make, and provide lots of versatile meal options.  There is nothing quite like the smell and taste of fresh made bread and you know you’re getting good nutrition because you know EXACTLY what you have put into it.

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups of wholemeal flour (plus extra for rolling)

1 tsp salt

1 cup water

Makes: 10 -16

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together. Knead for 10 minutes.  Wrap in cling wrap and leave to rest for 1 hour.  Divide dough into pieces (10 – 16).  Roll out thin using plenty of extra flour to prevent sticking.  Cook in a hot dry pan on a medium to low heat for about 30 seconds to 1 minute each side, you can tell it is ready to turn when the surface begins to bubble slightly or when the surface in contact with the pan starts to form light brown spots.  Serve and eat!

Acupuncture massage rings now available

This is an interesting new product that I have sourced.

I have only had them for a couple of days, but I have enjoyed using them myself and others who have tried them have also enjoyed them.

The rings provide a pleasant stimulating massage as you roll them up and down your fingers.  Great for people who work with their hands, or who are on a keyboard a lot and get stiff or sore fingers.  Also the massage is a great stimulation of the ends of the meridians which run down into each finger tip.

I’d be keen to hear what you think of them.

I only have a few available at the moment.  You can get one for $5 by dropping in to the centre, or send me an e-mail and I can post one out to you.  If I get more of them in I expect they will normally sell for about $10
